Polls talk ploy to prevent defections: Guan Eng

GEORGE TOWN (May 28, 2008): The Election Commission's talk about snap election appears to be a plan hatched by certain quarters to prevent any change of government by defections or crossovers, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said today.
"That's why I think it is important that this is not used as a device because there's some talk that to prevent people from jumping over, they are using the threat of snap election to stop them from doing so," he said in a press conference after announcing a RM115.2 million investment by Honeywell Aerospace here.

"Is this a device? It looks like it to me. They are saying, if you jump over, we can have snap election and you will get defeated," he said.

"Is that the real message they are trying to send out?"

Lim also asked EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman to reveal the identity of the party who had told him that there was going to be a snap election.

"Has he been getting indications from the Cabinet or the prime minister?" he asked.

Lim said it is the government of the day which has the power to call for a snap election and not the EC.

"The EC only conducts elections. When the term is up, it has the power to decide but when the term is not up, it has no power to decide.

"So who told the EC that there is going to be snap election? Does this show that EC is no longer independent. If that is so, we will go back to the same problem that elections are unfair, not free and not impartial," he said.

He called on the EC to explain why they are suddenly talking about snap election.

As for whether the state government is ready if a snap election is called, Lim said the federal government can call for a snap election but the state government has a choice of whether to have the snap election or not.

Lim was commenting on a statement by Abdul Rashid that EC has told its officers to be prepared for snap polls recently.

On the EC's proposal to re-register voters to clean up the electoral rolls, Lim was sceptical that the rolls could be 'cleaned up'.

"Whatever you do, if the organisation is not clean, it does not make any difference," he said.

Khairy And The Emperor's New Clothes: What In A Name!

There was something that shocked many people including political leaders. I think On Jan. 31st, 2008, PM Abdullah opened a boutique named The New Emperor's Clothes at the Pavilion-Kl. The boutique is co-owned by his daughter and Son-In-Law (SIL). A number of people were aghast at the choice of the name and also the insensitive picture (below) that showed Abdullah being given a T-shirt by the SIL.

Others were disturbed by the fact the PM could take time to open a shop for his daughter and SIL, unheard of in the annals of leaders. Even Abdullah's political nemesis, Lim Kit Siang called the picture an "arrogant" one and lambasted Abdullah for being "dumb."

Many people saw the incident as the height of insensitivity and also laughed at the irony. People argued that Abdullah should not have officiated his daughter and SIL's boutique with such a telling name. But you don't expect Dollah to read much into the world. Others argued that the duo should have chosen a different name for the boutique knowing the fairy tale of Danish author, poet and legend: Hans Christian Andersen and his famous works: The Emperor's New Clothes.

However, there is another side to the story and why KJ chose the name. I don't think he wanted to humiliate his Father-In-Law (FIL) by choosing the name though apt to the tale of Anderson; after all, we know who Abdullah is. What strengthens my argument is also the fact that the name of the boutique and its fairy tale is something of the past that one can argue has nothing to do with today's reality even if we are prejudiced.

This is the title of a Jewish organisation that works in Europe (ostensibly about Yugoslavia and the Balkans) and it is led by venomous Jewish prolific writer: Jared Israel. So, they will have to go to a private hospital or outside the country.

But Mahathir says Ataturk saved Islam. By abolishing the Caliphate? Turkish PM and President's daughters too study in the US because they were denied entry into local Turkish universities because they wear the Hijab. How do you see that? Well, this is Ataturk's legacy in which Tun calls saving Islam. Why Did Mahathir Pay $1.6 M To Jewish Lobbyists?

Well, as we know Tun Dr Mahathir always likes to hit at the West in order to manipulate the feeble minded Malays so that they consider him as a hero while he commits crimes at home, a distraction strategy. I don't know why would insulting others become an act of heroism even if they are your enemies, because an intelligent man moves slowly and doesn't rattle his enemies and that way achieves his goals as Sun Tzu famously quipped when he said: "Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness."

In fact, Singapore Father Lee Kuan Yew has perfected this art, and definatelty he is one million times smarter than Mahathir for he has built a nation and a soceity at the same time while Mahathir built a nation (infrastructure) but left an empty, naive and utterly raderless people. May be he wanted to be given god's status, but if one would live for eternity, many better moral beings would have lived. Yet he doesn't know how to win credit but always acts as a gutter politician.

Coming to my topic, as we know, Tun always takes a pot shot at his nemesis, Anwar Ibrahim whom he accuses of working with foreigners, particularly he likes to mention his meeting or working relationship with Paul Wolfowitz accusing the latter of formenting the Iraqi war. One wonders why did Tun pay $ 1.6m in order to meet Paul's leader and father figure: Bush if meeting a hostile man means giving in to him/her!

Why did he use our money which should have been given to orphans and widows to Jewish big gamblers in the US so that he meets Bush for a photo? Why did he tie our economy to the US, in which Malaysia is No.1 Muslim trading partner if he hated the US? I thought we should have worked with Zimbabwe? Because if we trade with the US, and we are the largest Muslim trading partner for your information, we are already working with them and assisting their budget, including financing the Iraqi War.

Now, when Tun says US company Halliburton shouldn't work in Malaysia since it has businesses in Iraq, on wonders if he is not aware that all the US companies that have invested in Malaysia under his watch pay taxes to the US government which in return is used for the Iraqi War and also the same companies operate in Iraq. Then those companies invest in the US banking system manned by Soros, Dr M's friend.

Let's look at the hypocricy of Tun and how naive elements buy his cheap rhetoric.

If you read the pictorial statement (left), you will realise that (encircled part) Dr. M lobbied for US fighter jets so that the US sells them to Malaysia. This way, he is working with the Pentagon and boosts their economy which in return sustains the war in Iraq. One wonders where he gets the audacity and temerity to talk cock when he works with the Pentagon and gives them our money so that they get much more to destroy Muslims, if I use Dr M's words.

However, that's not what pains people. Few months before the paid visit, he started a crackdown on Muslim activists and drove dozens of them to Kamuting under the ISA accusing them of terrorism. Reuters reported that Mahathir was "endearing" himself to the US administration. I guess at the expense of his subjects and fellow Muslims. One of those who were arrested by the brute regime of Dr M was Nik Adli, the son of Tok Guru, Datuk Nik Aziz who spent 5 years in jail.

What's more is that if you read the statement below, Dr. Mahathir admits to paying Jewish gambling tycoons in order to convince Bush to have a meeting with him, imagine begging Bush for a meeting? That would be the first meeting in which a leader of a "peaceful" and a friendly nation begs another for a meeting and on top of that pays a colossal amount of money for it to materialise. Sheesh!

And when he comes back to Malaysia, he takes a shot at them so that the poor, unlearned Malays cry: ye ye ye! He is tough! Oh, hogwash! Using our money to finance the enemy by begging them for a meeting in order to buy their ware and even paying for that meeting, for that photo? God the Almighty!

Spending our money on Jewish gamblers and Pentagon Lobbyists. Huh! Well, Tun as an incorrigable liar said that "they paid", referring to the Malaysian Embassy for the faciliation of the meeting. The fact is that he has lied and he has met the Jewish gamblers and even gave them awards at the Malaysia Embassy in Washington. Now those Jewish gamblers and tycoons are in jail after they were caught engaging in many other corruption cases.

Ironically, when a Jewish US Senate Member faced off Jewish lobbyist Jack Abramoff for working with Mahathir whom he accused of "Anti-Semitism", Abramoff was blunt: ""They [Mahathir's govt] pay their bills on time." Ke ke ke! Tun has exported his corruption even to the Jewish gamblers.
